Georgias HOPE Scholarship is available to Georgia residents who have demonstrated academic achievement. Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year a student enrolled in a Florida public school in kindergarten through grade 12 who has been subjected to an incident of battery. In the last school year 9901 students received the Zell Miller Scholarship for the first time up from 9669 the year before.
This 2800 state scholarship is awarded for two semesters during your initial year of college enrollment. If you are awarded a HOPE Scholarship your award will be included in your award notification after your final high school transcript has been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. You cannot appeal to regain your HOPE Scholarship if your GPA falls below the renewal requirements.

To regain the HOPE Scholarship you must maintain satisfactory academic progress and achieve a cumulative HOPE GPA of 275 after attempting 48 semester hours.
